Mission

As a non profit organization, People Helping People (PHP) Golden Games Program, under the direction of Three Time Olympian Tracy Evans, looks to provide healthy avenues for our ever-growing aging population which will encourage and educate our seniors about the importance of staying physically active. PHP’s focus is on seniors in long term and assisted care facilities or retirement communities as these are groups far too often forgotten, but who can benefit significantly from staying active. Olympic Athletes of all ages are supporting PHP's movement in helping to motivate these seniors that it is never to late to awaken the athlete within!.

Vision

PHP has developed and standardized the Golden Games Program to the level where it can be easily disseminated nationally to any long-term and assisted care facility or retirement community so that any facility may incorporate and hold their own local, regional or state Golden Games. As a result, PHP looks to host the first National Golden Games in Salt Lake City, Utah in the near future!

"Adding Olympian Spice to each Senior's Life!"

The GOLDEN GAMES is an “Olympic style” year around program that has been implemented in the Salt Lake City, Utah area encouraging seniors to stay active. This program has a fun and easy to follow Training Guide which can be incorporated into the Recreational Therapists, Activity Directors or Physical Therapists monthly activities calendar or schedules at each facility encouraging seniors wanting to participate to come prepare, train and practice for the modified events. The program culminates each year with a GOLDEN GAMES event designed and modified specifically for these senior residents. It is a day of fun and friendly competition between many of the local Salt Lake facilities with many local Olympians of all ages who come to volunteer and help out with the Opening and the Medals Ceremonies along with judging, signing autographs, guest speaking or simply rooting these seniors on in each of their events!
